  TOWER OF BABEL OBJECTIVE OF TOWER OF BABEL:   Be the player with the most points at the end of the game NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  2 – 3 players MATERIALS:  52 card deck, 3 Jokers, one 6 sided die TYPE OF GAME:  Card game AUDIENCE:  Adults INTRODUCTION OF TOWER OF BABEL Each round, players are trying to win points by playing the highest card.  Points are determined by the value of the die showing.  If a player wins consecutive turns, they earn even more points for each round won in a row. MATERIALS Tower of Babel requires a standard 52 card French deck, 3 Jokers, and one 6 sided die.   SET UP Separate the deck into its four suits.  Give each player one of the sets of thirteen cards as well as one Joker.  Place the die in the center of the playing space. Cards rank from 2 low up through Ace high. The Jokers have a special function.   RONDO OBJECTIVE RONDO:   Get cards into the correct position and remove them three times. NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  1 player NUMBER OF CARDS:  52 cards TYPE OF GAME:  Solitaire  AUDIENCE:  Adults INTRODUCTION OF RONDO Rondo is a patience activity that relies entirely on luck.  Although it is not much of a game, there is something calming and rhythmic about moving the cards from pile to pile.  Cards will be dealt into thirteen piles numbered 1 – 13.  The objective is to have each pile showing a card that correlates to the pile’s number.  Jacks are 11, Queens are 12, Kings are 13, and Aces are 1.  Players have a 5% chance of completing Rondo. THE CARDS & THE LAYOUT Rondo uses a standard 52 card French deck.  Shuffle the cards and deal out thirteen piles face up.  Each pile will have four cards in it.  Imagine that each pile is numbered 1 – 13.   THE PLAY Usually, play begins with pile keonhacai number 1.  Pick up the top card and put it under pile two.  Pick up the top card from pile 2 a

  PRESIDENTIAL BID OBJECTIVE OF PRESIDENTIAL BID:  Be the player with the most votes at the end of the game NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  2 or 3, best with 3 MATERIALS:  52 card deck, easy to sketch game board TYPE OF GAME:  Card game AUDIENCE:  Adults INTRODUCTION OF PRESIDENTIAL BID Presidential Bid, also known as Mr. President, is an auction game that calls for players to bid for presidential votes.  Players bid what they think a district is worth by playing a card from their hand.  If they play the highest card, they win the district.  The player who wins enough districts will win the region and its votes.  The player with the most votes at the end of the game wins the election. MATERIALS To play Presidential Bid, you will need a standard 52 card French deck and a game board as pictured below.  It is simple enough to quickly sketch out on three different sheets of paper.  The spaces within each region must be big enough for a card to fit in. NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  2 players MATERIALS:  Goal game board, 52 card deck, 1 chip or token TYPE OF GAME:  Card game AUDIENCE:  Kids and Adults INTRODUCTION OF GOAL Goal is a Reiner Knizia creation.  Mr. Knizia is a prolific board game designer with hundreds of published titles.  This game is just one of dozens he has created that utilizes fun and simple game mechanisms.   In this game, players are trying to move a chip into their opponent’s goal.  This is done by playing the highest card.  Rather than stick with a basic card order, Mr. Knizia spices things up by making the Ace special.   MATERIALS In order to play Goal, you will need a standard 52 card French deck, the game board which can easily be sketched on a piece of paper, and one chip or token which will represent the ball.  The board is pictured below. SET UP To prepare the cards for play, separate all of the hearts and spades from the deck.

  SWAP OBJECTIVE OF SWAP:   The first player to double their stock of each chip color wins the game NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  2 – 4 MATERIALS:  Four 6 sided dice, 4 sets of 12 chips – each set a different color TYPE OF GAME:  Dice game AUDIENCE:  Family, Adults INTRODUCTION OF SWAP Before beginning the game, establish the value of each chip from highest to lowest.  A number is not assigned to the chip, but an order of value is still established.  For these instructions, the grey chips are considered the highest valued, followed by yellow, then blue, and finally red as the lowest valued chips.  Create the market in the middle of the table by placing twice as many chips as there are players per color.  For example, if there are 4 players, place 8 chips of each color in the market.  Make each color a column, and place a die above of each column.  For the initial setup, die order placement does not matter.   Give each player one chip of each color.  Players should arrange their chips in order fr

  STRAIGHT GOLF OBJECTIVE OF STRAIGHT GOLF:  Be the player with the lowest score at the end of the game  NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  2 or more MATERIALS:  Six 6 sided dice, way to keep score TYPE OF GAME:  Dice game AUDIENCE:  Family, Adults INTRODUCTION OF STRAIGHT GOLF Straight Golf is a fast paced dice game for two or more players.  During this game, each player will have three chances to complete a straight.  Any dice not rolled correctly will count as points for the player.  Feeling lucky?  You may just get a hole in one!   THE PLAY To determine who goes first, each keonhacai should roll a die.  The player with the highest roll goes first.  The player with the lowest roll keeps score for the entire game. The object of each player’s turn is to roll a straight with the dice in three attempts or fewer.  This means rolling a 1,2,3,4,5,6. Players begin their turn by rolling all six dice.  Any dice that contribute to a straight are set aside.  For example, if Player 1 rolls a 1,3,3,4,4,6, they

  KING’S AUDIENCE OBJECTIVE OF KING’S AUDIENCE:  Build the foundations in descending order from Jack’s to 2’s  NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  1 player NUMBER OF CARDS:  52 cards RANK OF CARDS:  (low) 2 – Jack (high) TYPE OF GAME:  Solitaire AUDIENCE:  Adults THE CARDS & THE LAYOUT To play King’s Audience, you will need a standard 52 card French deck.  Shuffle the cards thoroughly and deal out sixteen cards face up in the shape of a square.  Each side of the square should have four cards, and the four sides make up the audience.  The remaining cards make up the draw pile.  The space within the square is called the chamber. THE PLAY In this game, the foundation piles begin with a Jack, and they are built in descending order according to suit.  The foundation ends with 2’s showing  Jack’s cannot be moved to the foundation space until the same suited Ace is also available.  When this occurs, place the Jack inside the chamber with the Ace under it.  This begins the foundation pile for that suit.
